Financial gifts to Food for Others help keep our doors open and keep our warehouse and street distribution sites functioning.

Virginia residents may be able to take advantage of Virginia income tax credits under the Neighborhood Assistance Program. More information on the program is available here.

Giving to Food for Others is easy and gifts are accepted in numerous ways:

• Write a Check
  To donate by check or money order, please make your donation payable to Food for Others and mail it to:

• Donate by Credit Card
  To donate safely by credit card, download and fill out the Financial Donation Form and fax it directly to Food for Others at 703-207-9204. You may also call us directly if you prefer to give your information over the phone.
• Online Through the Network for Good
  Donate safely and securely online through the Network for Good. Click here to learn how. Donor information is protected by Network for Good's Privacy Policy.
• Graduated Gift Giving Program
  If you prefer to spread out your gift giving over a specified number of months instead of donating in one lump sum, we can help. Simply fill out the Graduated Gift Giving Enrollment Form. We will keep it on file and put a charge through to your credit card as frequently as you would like, for as long as you would like. It’s all on the form. You dictate the amount of your gift and the time period for giving.
• Workplace Giving
  Food for Others welcomes the opportunity to visit your workplace campaign. To schedule a visit, please call us at 703-207-9173. To contribute through your company's United Way campaign, the Combined Federal Campaign or the Combined Virginia Campaign, you need to designate Food for Others as your agency of choice. Include the appropriate code on your donor form:
  • For the Combined Federal Campaign, if you are a Federal government employee, use code 8912
  • For the United Way campaign use Food for Others code 8912
  • For the Combined Virginia Campaign if you are a Virginia state government employee, use code 3346
• Matching Gifts
  If your company has a matching gifts program, you can obtain a matching gift form from your employer. Forms should be available from the human resources department. Fill out the form according to guidelines and send it to us with your donation: Food for Others, 2938 Prosperity Avenue, Fairfax, VA 22031.
• Make a Gift in Honor/Memory of Someone
  To make a gift in honor or memory of someone, please fill out a Financial Donation Form and mail or fax your donation to Food for Others. Upon receipt, we will send your honoree or a designated person an announcement of your gift.
• Donate Stock
  If you would like to make a stock donation to Food for Others, please contact our Executive Director at 703-207-9173.

In-Kind Donations

Food for Others is continually seeking donations of products and services to keep our costs down and direct our limited financial resources towards feeding the hungry.

We often need: gently used office equipment, kitchen equipment, pallet jacks and other trucking supplies, printing and mail services, photography, and gift items, hotels, airfare, dinners, etc. for our annual auction.

These are just some of our current needs and wishes:

Equipment

• Wet/Dry Industrial shop vac
• Digital camera to use at special events
• Electric pallet jack
• Commercial fans (standing variety)
• Flatbed push carts
• 4 ft. x 4 ft. commercial grade metal bins with fold down sides
• Postage scale
• Folding tables (prefer six foot size, but card style ok too) to use at fairs, festivals, special events
• New shelves for warehouse

• Color Printing for brochures, newsletters, posters, special event materials etc.
